gingerbread with glue

Ok so i know i havent blogged in a month but ive been very busy with debates, articles, essays, and algebra.

But last night my mom and i made a gingerbread house. The icing had the consistincy of glue. Looked like glue. And heck, it even smelt like glue. I know of one house im not gonna eat.

But i think its an amazing house. My mom said it was the house that hansel and gretel when to because we used up all of my excess Halloween candy. There were pink Double-Bubble logs, Blue-Raspberry JollyRancher Logs, and lets not forget the gumdrop lights. But i think its cool.

Fire in the classroom

As my title says, this post is about fire. But not actual fire. Its metaphorically speaking, for going to civics is living hell.

First off, she makes it seem like democrats are high-and-mighty. Now to those who are democrats, im not making fun of you, im just saying i think teachers shouldn't preach to their students about their political party.

I swear my teacher was an art teacher in her past life. The way she makes us color is ridiculous. I swear to you that i've colored more than i have this part of the school year more then i did in kindergarden!

Now if you excuse me, I Love New York is coming on. Yes, i watch it ;)

END OF NINE WEEKS!!!

Wow can you believe it? Its the end of the nine weeks, and one fourth of the school year is over. Time flies when your having fun, eh???

So far in the little time we've had, i can read full letters in Spanish. I know how to video-edit and write newspaper articles. I know how to pronounce never correctly.

And next week is going to be a field trip that my whole grade is going on...omg! lol that's going to be fun.... and interesting...

For adults, they think that the end of the nine weeks is nothing, that its just nine weeks gone down the drain. But for students, its an extravaganza! Bunches of tests, quizzes, and reviewing is whats mainly going on in the class rooms. Thank goodness I'm in journalism, where the only grade deduction we get is if we are chewing gum or not.

Just like that.

So I'm sorry i haven't posted in a while, but I've had so much to do.

As you've probably read on my moms blog
theres been a lot going on in my family. First of all, there was a scare that i would have to have surgery. For the bone condition that i have, a tumor on my finger was killing me. My mom put a medallion of Padre Pio and it stopped. Just like that.

And worst of all, my grandfather is gone. The one who i loved. The one who always came down. The one who i made plans with to move back up to new york with him when i go to college. And hes gone. Just like that.

I thank god that we came up to New York and visited him. I thank god that we got to spend a week with him. And that was four weeks ago. Its amazing how fast it went...

So basically, this post is dedicated to the memory of my grandfather. I love you...

Morning at the library

So today my mom signed me up to volunteer at the library for my Civics class.

To me, volunteering there was more like a sweat shop. They put me in a little room in the back for about an hour and a half (i was there for two). There was no clock in that room. They gave me a pair of scissors and a big stack of paper and told me to cut out all of the feathers that was on the paper (I'm guessing it was for thanksgiving....)

I also had to shelve books. That parts not bad. I'm the kid's room, there is no Dewey decimal system like my grade school's library that i worked in had.

I couldn't feel my thumb i cut so much paper. That was at twelve, and it still feels weird!

But i have to go again on next Saturday in order to fulfill my four hours of community service. And those feathers better be done...

I wonder what they will make me do next time....

NEVER!!!

OK so as you all know, i have a scary English teacher. And the other day, we were verbally presenting our summer projects when she stopped me from reading my poem. The took it out of my hands and read the poem out loud, flailing her arms and accentuating useless words. She made me re-read the last stanza ten times (in front of the whole class) just because i didn't say "Never" the way she wanted.

And yesterday i got my SOL scores back. And i was freaking out. Not because i failed miserably; no, i actually did really well. I gotta 542 in pre-ap English, and 598 in pre-ap history, and lord behold, a perfect 600 in, you guessed it, math. And my math teacher last year wouldn't give me extra credit for .05 of a point because she didn't think i deserved it (as you read in my very first post). Ha ha my words yesterday were "very colorful". just kidding....or am i???

Scary teachers

OK so here's a little post about my teachers.

I'm just going to say it right now, about half of them scare me.

They yell, they jump, they scream, they use weird hand motions, and did i mention they yell??? Yesterday i forgot my book at home (because i was using it for homework in that class) and she threat end me that if i forgot it again, i would have to carry a thick literature book every where. ooh I'm shaking. I wonder what she would do if someone forgot their homework...maybe carry their desk around???
