OK so here's a little post about my teachers.
I'm just going to say it right now, about half of them scare me.
They yell, they jump, they scream, they use weird hand motions, and did i mention they yell??? Yesterday i forgot my book at home (because i was using it for homework in that class) and she threat end me that if i forgot it again, i would have to carry a thick literature book every where. ooh I'm shaking. I wonder what she would do if someone forgot their homework...maybe carry their desk around???

Summer Cold
Uck right now I have a cold. Isn't it an oxy moron to get a cold in summer? But o well.
But i always get sick right when school starts. Which really stinks because this year i am on the journalism team and have to talk on tv,and currently i have a stuffy nose.
O well. Luckily we dont start recording till later this week. Now if you excuse me, i have algebra homework to do.

Bye Bye summer!
A BREAK FROM THE NEW YORK SAGA
OK so tomorrow is the first day of school and i think I'm experiencing the "first day jitters" that you get when your away from your friends for a while.
But I'm all prepared. All of my stuff is in my locker, my summer reading homework completed, and my outfit laid out. I even have my make-up out!!!
I am sad to see summer go though. Its went by so fast. And we had a wild ride in New York and basically every where else...
Needless to say, i might not be blogging for a couple of days, depending on how much homework my teachers give.

New York: The saga continues
OK so sorry I haven't blogged in a while. I've been helping around the house and been getting ready for school, which begins this week. But on with the New York saga!
So on to Monday (at the end of this will be pictures of the big city). My grandpa had a whole "to-do list" for my dad, so while he was fixing the many leaky sinks and toilets, my mom and I were off glamming it up at 18Th avenue.
That night we were going to this sort of family Reunion thingy at my aunt's house (more on that later) so my mom and i got our hair cut and styled, went shopping and had lunch at a pizzeria. So basically we had a girls day out.
First we were starving (maybe from all that walking?) so we had lunch. We went by a polish place but there was nothing there that i liked to we went across the street to a pizzeria. I got two slices of pizza, thinking that they would be the size like they are down here. WRONG! The two slices that i got were the equivalent to four regular slices of pizza pie down here! But i got to say, boy did I miss that New York pizza. And to all the people who think Domino's "Brooklyn-style" pizza is like New York pizza....you guys are sadly mistaken.
After our great lunch, we got our hair done at this Chinese place. It seems to be that all the hair salons are now owned my Chinese. When two woman took us to get our hair washed, i swear it was just like a massage. Ask my mom if you don't believe it. And they were speaking in Chinese the whole time, so we had no idea what the heck they were saying. I got the feeling that they were talking about us...
When they were finally done with the massage/15 minute shampooing, we had to wait for ten minutes for a chair to open up. While we were waiting this Chinese lady came over to me and gave me a Victoria's secret catalogue...OK....
When a chair opened up the lady told me to go, so my mom had to wait. It was a little hard to understand the guy who was cutting my hair to tell him what i wanted, but luckily i had a picture and he did it exactly how i wanted it. When he was finished with cutting it, he took out a blow dryer and a round brush and made my hair pin straight. Then to make it even straighter, he took out a flat iron. I loved how straight he got my hair, but my mom wouldn't let her person go near the flat iron.
Next up...shopping! We walked into Something Else and i couldn't believe they could charge 60 dollars for a Juicy terry sweater...that was on sale! It was so crazy that we just went out of there. The other big store that we went to was Rainbow. There the prices were a lot cheaper, and i actually got stuff there, but the dressing rooms were SO disgusting! The first one the sales woman brought me to have gum and dirt and i don't even know what other stuff all over the place that i changed to one that only had one gob of gum on the wall.
And that night we went to my aunt's house for a home cooked dinner with my family. There was an antipasto, baked pasta, meatballs, pork and potatoes, green beans, chocolate cookies and seven layers. And it was great aunt El!

New York: sunday shopping
So on Sunday, it was my day in the big apple. We went to Manhattan, where all the brand name stores are.
MY favorite store by far was Sephora. I seriously wish we had one in Roanoke. And of course we went to Saks. OMG that store is soooo expensive! A dress on sale (DKNY) was $1564!!! So we walked right out of the elevator that took us up to the 2nd floor (we didn't even go to the 9th!) and went to Strawberry. There i got a cute pair of red, black, and white pumps. And of course we went to Macy's herald square. There was a Ben and Jerry's in the junior department!
I LOVED New York City. Tune in tomorrow for all the sites like....
ROCKEFELLER CENTER*
AND....
THE BUILDINGS*
AND...
THE SKYLINES*
(*would be better pictures but mom called "dibs". Maybe I'll scoop her...)

New York: the prologue
So before i get started about new york, i wanna talk about my riding companion. Usually when we go away, we put our dog, max, in the kennel. But this year we took him up the east coast to the big apple.
He was the calmest dog you would ever see. He just laid in the car and slept the whole ride, unless we stopped and he went out to do his "business".

im baaaack!
OK so for the past week i haven't blogged because I've been in New York and the Poconos. Later I'll have some cool pics on.
First off, I find it hilarious on how New Yorkers handle natural disasters. After the tornado hit Brooklyn, the people complained on how long it took them to go to work!! And they told fema to stay away from them. You see, new yorkers (like my family and i) can handle things better then southerners. Sorry, but its true. You still hear about Hurricane Katrina, and that happened like, 2 years ago!! And where i was staying (at my grandpa's house) it was only a couple of blocks away! Weird, eh??
