Smells like July

Every July there is this bush in the front yard that blooms yearly. When I smell the fragrance lingering in the air from these flowers, i know its July.

Even if I didn't have a calender I would of known that it was around July fourth. From when I could remember, that bush always bloomed right around this time. And its a unique scent...nothing that could be mistaken for a lily or what not.

Its a b-e-a-utiful bush, don't get me wrong. But the smell these flowers give off is so pungent. But they are also pretty. These flowers are small and yellow and the smell packs a punch.

But without these flowers, it just wouldn't feel like July. From since I was little my family and I lit off fireworks with this fragrance in the background, clouded by sulfur.

I guess what I am saying is that it just smells like July.

Happy Independence Day eve! Here are some pictures of old fireworks in 2003... hopefully by the end of the week I'll have some new ones up!
